”Why is General Motors walking away with billions while Detroit dies?

 

No longer beneficial to make cars in Detroit anymore. General Motors is walking away with a bail out from the U.S taxpayers that cost over Billions of dollars. This was greatly opposed by people because Detroit is already suffering financially mainly with public service jobs such as school teachers and firefighters. “There are 80 thousand streetlights in Detroit and half of them are lit”

 

“What is next for the Motor City (Detroit)?”
Detroit is going to continue manufacturing cars that don’t create much profit to the city and country. The only thing the Motor City is doing is creating some jobs for Americans. I don’t think Detroit is going to get any where better soon because they are in a deep amount of debt. Swag swag all day. People like foreign cars better because American cars are bunk. Yo and also don’t mark me late please lol I passed out last night after I went to my sister’s graduation and dinner. It’s not really my fault yo lol I was doing it then I had to leave. Thanks yo.

Why We Crave What’s Cool

Today’s society is so focused on name brands when it comes to buying things and consuming them. The main brand conscious people are us teenagers. When looking at advertising of status brands the medial prefrontal cortex of your brain is activated therefore bringing in one’s perception or social status into play. Name brands also use this to get people to buy their products activating the ventral striatum known as the central reward structure. The idea of “cool” in the 1950s were not to conform or integrate with mainstream media, this has all changed when brands have increased our standards of living. For example Apple has represented themselves as “rebel cool” in the 1984 commercial saying that their rival IBM’s consumers are all “lemmings” for using their product rather than changing it up and using Apple. I feel that using or wearing a certain brand does say a little about you although doesn’t say a lot about you. There are many brands out there owned by people who have certain backgrounds that they are known for. I don’t know of any brands that are cool for teenagers probably because I am not cool at all.

Pain Of Paying
The pain of paying means when our feelings about spending money are coupled consumption. I know the feeling of watching my money go really sucks looking at my wallet getting thinner and thinner throughout the week or even day. It hurts to see your money disappear but with a credit card you cannot see or feel that money disappear by just swiping. I know that casinos use playing chips to help prevent the pain of paying rather than watching green money being lost. I thought this was genius and very interesting on how the mind works.

Independent Book Project

Moose Flanagan and his family moved to Alcatraz a small island off the coast of San Francisco that is home to some of the most dangerous criminals. Moose is the least of the bunch interested on being away from home, but forced to since his Father works as an electrician and guard on the island.

He’s also less than thrilled about having to keep an eye on his autistic sister, Natalie. Natalie was accepted into the Esther P. Marinoff School, which was supposed to help her, but unfortunately, she’s sent back home almost immediately because she’s just not adjusting to the school. This is a problem because the other school provided to help Natalie is off the island and is far from their budget as a low income family. Although the book never comes out and directly says Natalie has Autism, Autism itself has not yet been brought to attention during this time period. This means that Moose becomes her caretaker.

Moose then makes friends with other kids on the island, including Piper, the warden’s daughter. Piper plans all sorts of crazy schemes to keep them occupied, which include breaking the most important rule… Don’t talk to or about the prisoners. Throughout the book Piper is known to only act like an angel around her Father and the complete opposite around everyone else.

This is where I have left off from the story, but would like to finish it one day. I enjoyed the book’s humor and how the book showed somewhat of what it’s like to live as a kid on Alcatraz. I would think of this book more suitable to a younger audience of about the ages 12- 18 years old. I would give this book a 3.7 out of 5 stars due to the book being too slow at the start.

What Did I Learn from the documentary?

 

I have learned that the United States taxes the wealthy at a far less percentage than the lower/ middle class people. I don’t think it’s fair at all for that to happen and to say that they are the job creators…where?…in other countries? The United States is losing many jobs within the country due to investors investing in places that charge less for the product they are manufacturing. All of them rich people high up in the class bracket are chilling.

What single word best describes the way you feel?

After watching the documentary I felt upset because why you gotta do this to me Unites States? I thought we were bros.? Wow, I guess not. I don’t even know what to say I’m speechless and I don’t even want to look at you anymore. I just don’t see how you do me like that. We were together for like 18 years, three months 23 days, 23 hours, 43 minutes and 56 seconds! Like why?… Why? I basically feel this way to what I had to said above. I need some time alone… Some time to think you know?

What is FaZe Clan?

FaZe Clan is one of the most prestigious gaming teams in the world of eSports and on social media. FaZe Clan has also begun to explore new areas in music, fitness and lifestyle in order to provide a wide range of genre for their over 4 million subscribers on Youtube; a following which is the largest among all other gaming organizations. FaZe Clan is built upon their numerous directors and top tier professional gamers. FaZe Clan’s name and brand is one that is well known and respected by both recreational and professional gamers.

FaZe Fitness

FaZe Clan’s constant critical thinking on from something as simple as what kind of new video they are going to produce for the day, to the ways they can change the community in which they serve a big role in. They created FaZe Fitness to prove to people that you can be a gamer and also be fit. In other words to break the stereotype of what the typical person would think of a typical gamer. Making this sub organization led to the change in many people’s lives, as well as making it aware that gamers hold so much potential to achieve their wildest dreams. On October 7th of 2014, FaZe created a professional studio for all of their professional gaming videos and many inspirational videos. Seeing FaZe Clans Youtube channel video’s are some of the most beautiful and most well put together pieces of clips, music and artwork to make one big masterpiece. You can sense the long periods of work/detail and dedication in each of their videos in which, I Am a big fan of seeing. FaZe Clan is not only made of great gamers but, also made of great artists.

I watch many FaZe members videos and they are quite entertaining. They cover about anything about their lives, make funny skits or gaming videos in all of their daily uploads. Lots of FaZe members do their own thing on all of their uploads to their own channels but, all play a role/job within the clan. FaZe Clan and some individual FaZe members hold numerous sponsorships in big and highly known gaming companies, gaming drink supplements, fitness clothing company and many more! Without Youtube, FaZe Clan wouldn’t be in the position they are today. I didn’t really have a role model until about half way into the school year last year. It’s hard to find a celebrity that holds a lot of my interests and characteristics that I Am good at maintaining. My Idol’s name is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II or formally known as the stage name “Logic”. He is a musician and song writer that I follow and try to keep track of the latest things of him and his music. Logic is a man of always being himself no matter what people think of him or his music. The Motto

His music does not only interest me but also, his personality of being cool with everyone and even interacting with his fan base as much as possible. “Always keep it real and remember where I’m from” , he raps in his song “Paradise”. All of his songs usually have meaning behind each and everyone of them that relate to him, someone he knows or issue in the world. He stresses the words or known as the motto “Peace, Love, Positivity”  in his life and concerts he performs in. These are very simple words that come with lots of responsibility as us humans to each other. If we had these three balanced words in the world today we wouldn’t have any negative thing, person or issue bring us down, but for now we must learn to just strive from it.screenshot_2016-10-28-23-19-40

   How he relates to me?

He loves to hangout and play video games. He has a Youtube channel that he solely made to do what he loves but, not to make money. He likes to keep himself while knowing how to have a good time. If I were to ever be famous I had already planned out and always thank/think about the people that got me in the position I’am in. To always represent and remember where I’m from. Although he never graduated high school, he still is very successful in life while changing many people’s lives all over the world.

Wellness Blog #2

What does this mean?

“Occupational Wellness is the ability to achieve a balance between work and leisure time, addressing workplace stress and building relationships with co-workers.”  This basically means to be able to have a job in which you enjoy to wake up everyday to go to while, being able to have time to rest and have time to do the things you love.

ztcHow this wellness relates to me today

 

I use this wellness a lot within my sport wrestling. Being able to work really hard and persevere through the aching/tired body each week is also hard to have time to manage. After the weekdays where we practice or work out in order to get ready for a tournament/season, I like to have some down time to sleep, go to the pool, listen to music, relax and watch t.v. Being on the wrestling team I’ve experienced a great deal of comradery or brotherhood that I have not gotten in an other sport before. We are family and understand each others positions whether we are going through a good or bad situation but, push each other passed our breaking point.

How I Am going to transfer this wellness to my life after high school

 

vistafs6-8Joining the fire academy after high school will push me and help me be the best I can be in the job field I Am going to enter in. I believe it will be just like wrestling in terms of the workouts and brotherhood, at least of what I have heard. I have also heard from my First Responders teacher, that fire fighters get weeks or even months off of work to get some rest time from the hard and stressful work that fire fighting can be.

 

All in all, everyone should find their own occupational wellness to be able to live your life without second guessing yourself or your occupation.

A Little About Me

rsz_unnamedI Am a senior/student in the Personal Learning Academy at Vista High School. My interests are playing video games, Youtube, watching UFC fights and Snapchatting my brothers because one lives far from away me so, all three of us like to remind each other that we are still there for one another. I also have an interest in lifting weights it gives me something to work harder to be stronger and a sense of accomplishment once I finally get a certain weight. I like to get things done early so I have time to do the things I love. I Am also on the Wrestling team here at school. Wrestling and my teammates have made me push myself to be greater and always work hard. After high school I plan on joining a fire academy to be a firefighter. I believe that being in wrestling and all the hard work we have put in each year will transfer into my career in being the best firefighter I can possibly be. I can not wait till the end of this school year because it has been a long journey that I have endured and… it is only the beginning of life as I know it. I will always try to find time to do the things I like and spend time with my family.
